Northern Samar has 11 new COVID cases




The Department of Health - Eastern Visayas recorded tonight, October 7, 2020, 11 new COVID-19 cases in Northern Samar. This brings the total COVID cases of the province to 164.
Of the 11 new cases, 10 are from Catarman and 1 from Laoang.
The cases from Catarman are as follows:
1. 45-year old male from Bgy. Old Rizal, admitted at NSPH on October 1, 2020
2. 45-year old female also from Bgy. Old Rizal, a healthcare worker. Also admitted at NSPH on October 1, 2020
3. 33-year old male LSI from Bgy. Dalakit, admitted at NSPH on October 3, 2020
4. 42-year old symptomatic male healthcare worker from Bgy. Molave
5. 25-year old male, also symptomatic. He is a resident of Bgy. Dalakit
All 5 were swabbed at NSPH. The other 5 confirmed cases swabbed at RHU Catarman are:
6. 49-year old female from Bgy. Narra. She is symptomatic
7. 46-year old female, also from same barangay. Likewise symptomatic
8. 48-year old male from same barangay, symptomatic
9. 37-year old female from Bgy. Narra, asymptomatic
10. 49-year old male LSI from Quezon City. He was observed to have symptoms
Meanwhile, the case from Laoang is a 49-year old female barangay health worker. She is symptomatic and now under isolation at the Municipal Isolation Facility.
With the new cases, active COVID cases are now 18. So far, the total recoveries recorded by the DOH Provincial Office is already 145.
As the province continues to face the threat of COVID-19, everyone is strongly advised to observe health and safety protocols and boost the immune system to prevent further spread of the disease.
