One (1) patient from Northern Samar turned positive of COVID-19 tonight, October 18, 2020, announced by the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas.
The latest case is from Mondragon, 45 years old and currently admitted at a private hospital in Tacloban. The patient was also swabbed in Tacloban.
Meanwhile, on October 15, 2020, a resident of Catarman but who works in Calbiga, Samar tested positive of COVID-19. She was initially counted as a Calbiga case but now tagged as among Catarman’s COVID cases.
The total COVID record of the province is now 342. The DOH Provincial Office has recorded a total of 152 recoveries and 2 deaths while active cases are still high at 188.
With the latest surge of cases in the province, the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force continuously appeals to the public for compliance to health and safety protocols: always maintain physical distance, frequently wash hands with soap or sanitize, wear mask and boost the immune system to fight COVID-19.
