Northern Samar records 2 new cases of COVID-19, total now at 150


COVID UPDATE September 24, 2020 Tonight, September 24, 2020, the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas announced 2 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Northern Samar. One positive case is a 33-year old female health worker from Allen, Northern Samar, while the other is from Catarman, a 49-year old female. Meanwhile, a reswab of a previously confirmed case from Catarman, a 1-year old close contact of a positive case, still tested positive of COVID-19. All 3 were swabbed on September 22, 2020, along with other close contacts and suspected cases in the province. A total of 179 swab samples were submitted to the EVRCTC for COVID testing from said batch. The 2 new cases bring the total COVID record of the province to 150. Good news, 118 have already recovered based on the report of the Provincial DOH Office, while 32 are active cases. As the threat of the virus continues, the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force also continues its appeal to everyone to help contain the spread of the disease.
