Northern Samar has 6 new COVID cases



   
 The Department of Health Center for Health Development in Eastern Visayas announced tonight, August 6, 2020, 6 new COVID-19 cases in Northern Samar. 

 The 6 new confirmed cases are returning residents, all LSIs, 1 each from the towns of Lavezares, Mapanas, Rosario, Gamay, Las Navas and Catarman.

 The case from Lavezares is a 67-year old male LSI from Quezon City who arrived in the province on July 29, 2020. He is symptomatic and isolated at the municipal isolation facility upon arrival.

 The new case from Mapanas, is also a male, a 23-year old LSI from Quezon City.  He is asymptomatic but was swabbed being a close contact of a positive case.  He is also isolated at the municipal isolation facility.

 The first case of Rosario is a 41-year old male LSI from Batangas.  He arrived on July 31, 2020 and manifested symptoms of COVID-19.  He was admitted at NSPH but already discharged and continue isolation.

 The new case of Gamay is a 25-year old female LSI from Paranaque City.  She arrived on July 28, 2020. She has also been admitted at NPSH but already discharged and currently continues isolation.

 The first confirmed case of Las Navas is a 69 year old female LSI from San Juan, Manila, also isolated on arrival. 

 The case from Catarman, its second, is a 43-year old female LSi from Quezon City who arrived on July 24, 2020.  She is also isolated. 

 All 6 were swabbed on August 4, 2020, and tonight their test results were released.

 The 6 latest cases bring the total COVID record of the province to 46.  Of this number, 26 are already recovered while 20 are active cases.

 With the rising number of cases, the provincial government advises the public to strictly observe health standards to prevent spread of COVID-19.
