As Northern Samar continues to record a surge of COVID-19 cases, now reaching over 900 cases and 11 deaths, Governor Edwin Ongchuan organized Task Force Disiplina to strictly enforce the law on the mandatory wearing of face mask and face shield.
Governor Ongchuan made the move as a measure to lower the incidence of COVID-19 in the province. Health experts believe that the risk of infection is high without the protection provided by face mask and shields.
Initial operations of the Task Force resulted to the apprehension of 29 violators who were brought to the police station for proper action.
The intensified campaign on the mandatory wearing of face mask and face shield started in Catarman but will extend to the different municipalities of the province.
