Northern Samar COVID-19 Update
Catarman, Northern Samar – The Provincial Health Office has noted most of Northern Samar’s patients under investigation (PUIs) for COVID-19 exhibit mild symptoms. As of 3:00PM today, PHO has recorded 87 PUIs with mild symptoms and under strict home isolation. They are being supervised and monitored by the local RHUs, in coordination with their respective Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams.
PHO is hopeful that the condition of these PUIs remain manageable at the RHU level, that they eventually recover and get cleared.
On the other hand, 1 patient who is now recovering at the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center and almost ready for discharge, has tested positive of COVID-19. The Department of Health recently confirmed our patient to be positive of the virus, the first confirmed case in Northern Samar and in Eastern Visayas. She will go through another test and wait for a negative result before she can be discharged. The patient is a resident of Catarman
Three (3) more PUIs are currently confined in 2 separate hospitals, apparently showing severe signs of the disease. So far, 2 PUIs have already been discharged for improved health condition.
